Oil tank looking alive

Its been to long MIG. no seriously, when I got moving, I was moving to fast. But after playing with the feed speed a bit, I was back on top.

Fuck MIG is splatter-fest city.

A little clean up never hurt anyone. I'll have to touch up some of these edges, But damn, this is looking rad as fuck.

So much better looking than an aftermarket or stock tank.

Oil box coming along

From stock plate to plate panels.

Went to town with an angle grinder, probably not the best way to cut 14g. But I'm not about the best way, as long as it gets done, it was done the right way.

At this point I did try to just bend the corners around the table with some map gas. after about a minute I realized that wasn't going to work and I was going to have to weld all sides of the box.
Oh well, it makes more sense to go this route rather than bending it. mainly because I can wait to put the top on until I pick up a filler cap, and feed line bungs. Drilling those holes after welding the box together would be a nightmare.

TAPE! I was getting antsy, and the night was close to expiring.

I gotta say, I am pumped for this. Can't wait to get the mig in to this relationship. Its been about 4years since I have touched one. Let hope it goes well.

The beginnings of a major sissy

Good day at the garage. I picked up my 6' of stainless steel rod, and got to work.
Got a few help pieces of advice and techniques for bending a sissy bar, none other than 'Man of the Land' Matt.

First bend, looking good.

Start of the 'S' bends at the base of the bar.

BBQ break with the lady.

'S' bends complete, I might touch them up a bit when it comes to mounting these bad boy.

And a nice back bend kink to top it off.
